at Lincoln Middle School, Mount Prospect, IL


The mission of LMS Robotics is to introduce students at Lincoln Middle School to real-life engineering and science research. Our goal is to inspire student’s interests in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), by engaging them in an after school program that encourages innovative out-of-the-box thinking, and fosters life skills, such as self-confidence, time management, communication, teamwork and leadership. 

Our program is consistent with the vision of FIRST 
(For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) 
and the FIRST Lego League (FLL).

  • 2018 LMS Robotics Into Orbit FLL Competition Teams Announcements Team selection this year was very difficult due to the great amount of talent that participated in the club this year. This was one of the hardest seasons for selecting teams. There are strict rules on the number of students per team dictated by FIRST LEGO League (FLL) rules. We are very proud of the students for all the hard work they did in a very short amount of time!   • Lincoln Robotics at the 2018 Robotics World Championship April, 2018The Lincoln Middle School Robotics team traveled to Detroit, Michigan to compete in the 2018 World Championship The The theme challenge was Hydrodynamics – how people find, transport, use and dispose of water in the human water cycle. The Lincoln team selected the problem of agriculture water runoff entering the human water cycle. Farm field runoff contains soil, fertilizer and pesticides. The team developed a solution using a sedimentation tank/clarifier on the field followed by a natural filter made of sweet tree gumballs. They shared this solution with professionals, farmers, university professors and waste water treatment experts.   • LMS Robotics Teams Advance to the Championships  - 12/12/16, Mount Prospect, Il. - On Saturday, December 12th, the Mount Prospect Regional Qualifier was held at Lincoln Middle School. Both LMS Robotics teams competed and advanced to the Northern Illinois State Championship, to be held at Elgin Community College, on January 14th, along with 64 other teams from across the state. At the Mount Prospect Qualifier, there were 2 separate tournament, Tournament "A" and Tournament "B", with 16 team competing in each tournament. LMS Robotics Team 492, The PropellerHeads, competed in the "A Tournament, and in the robot portion of the competition, they fished 2nd, with a score of 174 points, just 2 points behind the first place winner.
